ASTM A53 is a standard specification for welded and seamless carbon steel pipe developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). This standard covers a variety of pipe sizes and thicknesses, and the ASTM A53 standard is classified into different grades, including Grade A and Grade B. Among them, Grade A corresponds to the Chinese domestic material Q235A; Grade B corresponds to the Chinese domestic material Q235B. In China, the domestic standard corresponding to the ASTM A53 standard is GB/T.

The chemical composition of ASTM A53 mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), copper (Cu), molybdenum (Mo) ) and vanadium (V). The content of these elements in steel pipes is strictly controlled to ensure that the steel pipes have excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Specifically, its chemical composition is as follows: Carbon (C): the content is generally 0.25%, manganese (Mn): the content is below 0.95%, phosphorus (P): the content is below 0.05%, sulfur (S): the content is below 0.045 % or less Nickel (Ni): content is less than 0.40%, chromium (Cr): content is less than 0.15%, copper (Cu): content is less than 0.025%, molybdenum (Mo): content is 0.15%, vanadium (V): Content is 0.08%

The production methods of ASTM A53 steel pipes mainly include hot rolling and cold drawing. In addition to these two main production methods, other processes may also be involved, such as seamless pipe processes and welded pipe processes.
