The production process of Q235B steel pipe can be categorized as follows:
Coil welding. It is a kind of process mainly used by domestic manufacturers. Most manufacturers can produce Q235B steel pipe with wall thickness no more than 8mm. It uses hot-rolled steel sheets as Q235B steel pipe raw materials, and the coils are initially formed and then extruded. Welding forming, welding using high-frequency welding. The Q235B steel pipe whole process is not heat-treated, and the stress generated during the extrusion process cannot be removed. The process is cold-rolled.
Cold drawing. The process generally uses a seamless steel pipe as a raw material, and is formed by cold drawing to form a Q235B steel pipe, and then heat treatment to eliminate internal stress generated during the drawing process. For stainless steel, it can be solution treated. The process is cold-rolled and generally has a wall thickness between 0.5 and 20 mm.
Tube extrusion. The seamless or seamed steel pipe is used as a raw material, and the Q235B steel pipe is formed by multiple extrusions. After the extrusion, the heat treatment is not performed, and the stress generated during the pressing process cannot be eliminated at present. If localized normalizing is performed, it may cause the Q235B steel pipe to have a size that exceeds the allowable variation.
Thermoformed hollow tubes. The round tube is generally produced by a cold forming process, and finally a Q235B steel pipe is formed at a normalizing temperature (usually 850 to 950°C). Since the raw material is extruded at a normalizing temperature, the internal stress generated in the molding at each stage can be almost eliminated.
