The ASTM A714 steel pipe standard specification includes standard requirements for seamless and welded high-strength low-alloy steel pipes. ASTM A714 steel pipe should be used for pressure piping services and other general purposes. In these cases, saving weight or increasing durability is important. Thermal analysis and ASTM A714 steel pipe analysis should be carried out. Different grades of steel should meet the required chemical composition of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, copper, vanadium, nickel, chromium and molybdenum.
ASTM A714 steel pipe shall meet the required tensile strength characteristics, such as pipes specified for grade 2 or 4 for tensile strength, yield strength and elongation. ASTM A714 steel pipe should be subjected to mechanical tests, that is, bending test, flattening test and hydraulic test.
