To obtain smaller and better quality ASTM A179 seamless steel pipe, cold rolling, cold drawing, or a combination of the two should be used. Cold rolling is usually carried out on a two-high mill, where ASTM A179 seamless steel pipe is rolled in a circular groove of variable section and a stationary tapered end.
