ASTM a387 grade 5 steel pipe welding is a processing technology and connection method to produce atomic bonding between two workpieces by heating, pressurization or both. Welding is widely used, both for metal and non-metal.
Welding process parameters of ASTM a387 grade 5 steel pipe
Since the proportion of base metal melting into the first layer of weld metal is up to about 30%, small current and slow welding speed shall be used as much as possible to reduce the penetration of base metal.
ASTM a387 grade 5 steel pipe post weld heat treatment
After welding, it is better to immediately carry out stress relief heat treatment for ASTM a387 grade 5 steel pipe, especially for weldments with large thickness, highly rigid structures and weldments working under severe conditions (dynamic load or impact load). The tempering temperature for stress relief is 600 ~ 650 ℃.
If the stress relief heat treatment of ASTM a387 grade 5 steel pipe cannot be carried out after welding, the post heat treatment shall be carried out immediately.
